Dr. Joshi giving WIPS
Lots of milestones for a new lab! Here is post-doctoral fellow Gaurav Joshi giving our labs first Works in Progress seminar to the division. Stay tuned for exciting mechanisms that he is uncovering about ribosome biogenesis.
A new partner in our fight
We are are so grateful to the V Foundation for Cancer Research for supporting out mission to design new classes of targeted therapies for pediatric AML.
Life outside the lab
To celebrate the end of the year, we ventured off campus for a meal and white elephant gift exchange. Fortunately it didn’t get too heated!
Highlight of the summer
I had the great honor to serve and the medical staff at Camp Sunshine during DBA week. I met so many courageous DBA warriors and their families and had a fantastic time watching them play and bond, and hearing about their stories. I came back to the lab with a full tank of motivation to accelerate our efforts to develop meaningful therapies for these patients.
The motivation behind what we do
We are grateful to the Children’s Cancer Fund for partnering with us to accelerate the development of better therapies for patients like KK with AML.
On the cover!
Thrilled to have our work describing a unified gene therapy for Diamond-Blackfan anemia featured on the cover of Cell Stem Cell.
Moving in!
It’s starting to look like a research lab around here. Freezers and incubators are in place – centrifuges and pipets are next. Then, time for science!
Can’t argue with a fortune cookie
It took a lot of restraint to not submit this as a response to reviewers. Instead, we concerned ourselves with the details and ended up with a much stronger manuscript that will hopefully be out soon. Stay tuned!
DBA family meeting
What a great weekend in NYC, meeting with DBA patients and their families to share our excitement about gene therapy for DBA.
Now we can keep the lights on
The Voit lab is thrilled to announce that some of our work will be supported by the National Cancer Institute. Want to join us? Please reach out.
